The present invention obtains a controller and a control method capable of appropriately assisting with an operation by a rider. The present invention also obtains a driver-assistance system including such a controller.A controller (60) for a driver-assistance system (10) used for a motorcycle includes: a relevant information acquisition section (65) that acquires information relevant to automatic deceleration generated during adaptive cruise operation; and a notification control section (66) that makes a notification device (70) execute notification operation to the rider in the case where the information relevant to the automatic deceleration, which is acquired by the relevant information acquisition section (65), satisfies a determination criteria.
