The invention relates to an electrically resistive heating element (20), adapted for covering a curved surface (19) of a vehicle interior component (12). The heating element includes a carrier layer, electrical terminals, and a heating circuit. The carrier layer is made of a flexible and electrically insulating material, and is to be attached to the curved surface of the component. The terminals are provided on the carrier layer and adapted to be coupled to a source for heating current. The heating circuit is formed of a flexible two-dimensional mesh of slit-and-expanded material, which is shaped into an electrically resistive surface trajectory that is fixed onto the carrier layer and extends along this carrier layer between the two electrical terminals.
