The present invention provides a brake control apparatus and a method for detecting a failure in a brake control apparatus capable of accurately detecting a possibility of a brake failure without requiring a special pressure increase operation. A brake apparatus detects a possibility of a failure based on a difference between a first hydraulic pressure in a connection fluid passage that is determined based on the number of rotations of a motor and a second hydraulic pressure detected by a hydraulic sensor.
