A railcar braking device (1) includes: a brake lever (4) having a point of effort in which a force is input and a point of action that produces a braking force in a member subject to braking (W), the point of effort going through a first displacement and a second displacement in the stated order when a braking force is generated; and a magnification ratio modulator (6) that configures a magnification ratio of a displacement at the point of action relative to the first displacement at the point of effort to be larger than a magnification ratio of a displacement at the point of action relative to the second displacement at the point of effort.
