A system for delivering newspapers (52) to end customers has at least one drone (20), which a) comprises a flight control unit (22) configured for autonomous flying, b) has at least one flight motor in the form of an electric motor (24), c) comprises an exchangeable rechargeable battery (28) which supplies the flight motor with power, d) has a programmable control unit (30) with which at least one memory (32) is associated, and e) on its underside has a coupling (34) for an electrical and mechanical connection and a plurality of cassettes (36). Each cassette (36) comprises f) a coupling mating piece (54) co-operating with the coupling (34) for the rigid connection of a cassette (36) to a drone (20), g) a number of compartments arranged adjacent to one another and open at the bottom for receiving a film-wrapped newspaper (52) in each case, h) a retaining means (66) for the newspaper (52) which normally blocks the path of the newspaper (52) downwards out of the compartment (50) and is moved by the control unit from the blocked state to a release state in which the newspaper (52) falls downwards out of the compartment (50), and i) a data carrier (58) which uniquely identifies the cassette (36) and which is in read communication with the programmable control unit (30).
