The invention relates to a vehicle seat (10) comprising two support rails (23), a backrest (11) and a seat portion (12), said backrest (11) being mounted on the seat portion (12) such that it pivots about a connecting pin (19). The main feature of a seat according to the invention is that it is pivotably mounted on the rails (23) by means of a mechanism including two rear link rods (30), two forward link rods (31) and two connecting rods (32), such that each rear link rod (30) hingedly connects a first pin (33) of one rail (23) to a second pin of the backrest (11); each front link rod (31) hingedly connects a third pin (35) of the seat portion (12) to a fourth pin (36) located at a front end of the connecting rod (32); each connecting rod (32) hingedly connects a fifth pin (37) of the rear link rod (30) to the fourth pin (36) of the front link rod (31); and each connecting rod (32) has a slot (38) through which a sixth pin (39) of a rail (23) located in front of the first pin (33) passes.
