A photovoltaic array structure with independent modules, characterised in that it comprises a plurality of photovoltaic modules connected to one another by electromechanical connection means; each of said modules comprising a prismatic body with a polygonal or circular base and having side faces provided with photovoltaic cells intended to provide electric power when illuminated by light radiation of any nature, direct, diffused and reflected. The photovoltaic array structure of the present invention is able to guarantee an electrical efficiency equivalent if not superior to that of a traditional photovoltaic panel with continuous surface of equal dimensions and provided with the same type of photovoltaic cells.
