A connecting element defining an axial direction, comprising a first portion with a first contact surface for mechanically and electrically connecting the connecting element to a connecting portion of a fuse, an axially spaced second portion with a second contact surface for mechanically and electrically connecting the connecting element to a terminal or a bus bar, and a connecting portion mechanically and electrically connecting the first portion and the second portion. The connecting portion comprises at least one elongated part that is elastically bendable to allow relative lateral movement of the first and second portions when a first force acting in a lateral direction is applied to the first portion and a second force acting in an opposite lateral direction is applied to the second portion.
