A smart headlight system for a bicycle according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a bicycle body; a portable terminal which may be carried by a rider of the bicycle body and has a GPS module, for detecting the location information of the bicycle body, so as to measure the running speed on the basis of the location information of the bicycle body; and a headlight apparatus which is disposed on the bicycle body so as to cast light on the scene ahead of the bicycle body, is communicatably connected to the portable terminal so as to receive the running speed of the bicycle body, and is formed such that irradiation patterns may vary in accordance with the running speed of the bicycle body.
