A de-icing assembly for a surface of an aircraft includes a carcass (32) with a first layer (34) and a second layer (36), a plurality of seams (38) sewn into the carcass (32), and a bonded region. The plurality of seams (38) join the first and second layers (34, 36) of the carcass (32) together. Each of the plurality of seams (38) comprises two or more stitchlines. The bonded region is disposed between the two or more stitchlines and seals a portion of the first layer (34) of the carcass (32) to a portion of the second layer (36) of the carcass (32).
