An emergency braking monitoring system includes a wheel assembly (207) having a first wheel (261), an emergency braking monitoring unit (234) coupled to the wheel assembly (267), and a locked wheel annunciation center (246) coupled to the emergency braking monitoring unit (234) for annunciation purposes. The emergency braking monitoring unit (234) generates a fault annunciation signal based on a determination as to whether a first wheel speed value (221) originating from the first wheel (261) of the wheel assembly (207) is a predetermined amount less than a reference value for a persistence time.
