The invention provides that at least one configuration value for configuring a force buildup which is brought about by means of the set damper hardness is used as the basis for generating the respective actuation signal (16), wherein a class signal (24), which specifies a respective tyre class of atyre (14) which is held by the respective vibration damper (12) is received by the control device (17) for each vibration damper (12), and the at least one configuration value for the actuation signal (16) of the vibration damper (12) is set as a function of the class signal (24) of the tyre (14).
