A door closing apparatus 2 includes a latching mechanism including a latch 40, a closing mechanism configured to shift the latching mechanism from a half latching state to a fully latching state, and a driving source configured to operate the closing mechanism. The closing mechanism includes a closing lever 120 that is rotated by power of the driving source, a closing arm 130 that is translated in response to a rotation of the closing lever 120 to be linked with the latch 40 and a cancelling lever 140 that rotates in response to an operation of a door opening operation source 12, 14. The closing lever 120 has a closing lever shaft 121 that is supported by the cancelling lever 140, and the supporting of the closing lever shaft 121 by the cancelling lever 140 is cancelled by a rotation of the cancelling lever 140 in response to an operation of the door opening operation source 12, 14.
