The invention relates to an arrangement for supporting a battery (1) that powers an electric machine carried on board a hybrid motor vehicle comprising a rear body shell floor (23) provided with a concave housing (24) to accommodate a spare wheel, characterized in that it comprises an elongate support element (3) able to extend transversely to said rear body shell floor overhanging said concave housing (24) to house the spare wheel, the said support element (3) comprising a longitudinal member (32) in vertical alignment with which are arranged two opposite retaining arms (37, 38) able to project towards the inside of the said concave housing and between them defining a zone for accommodating the said battery (1) inside the said housing (24).
