An erosion shield assembly (10) includes an erosion shield (22), a carbon allotrope heater (26) attached to an inner surface of the erosion shield (22), and an adhesive layer (24) between the carbon allotrope heater (26) and the erosion shield (22). The carbon allotrope heater (26) includes at least one layer of a carbon allotrope material.
