The projection apparatus (100) comprises a combiner holder (104) for holding a combiner pane (106). The combiner holder (104) is rotatably arranged or arrangeable in the housing between a projection position, in which the combiner pane (106) projects the light beam into a viewing region of a driver, and a closed position, in which the combiner pane (106) is lowered in the housing (1100). Moreover, the projection apparatus (100) comprises a guide device (102) with at least one guide rail (108) for guiding a cover element (110) for covering the housing opening. The cover element (110) is arranged or arrangeable in a rotatable and/or displaceable manner in the guide rail (108). The guide rail (108) is formed to guide a main direction-of-extent plane of the cover element (110) substantially parallel to a main direction-of-extent plane of the combiner pane (106). Furthermore, the projection apparatus (100) comprises a drive mechanism (112) for synchronizing a movement of the cover element (110) with a movement of the combiner holder (104). The drive mechanism (112) has at least one first downward-driving element (118) coupled to the cover element (110), a second downward-driving element (120) coupled to the combiner holder (104) and a drive element (116) engaging with the first downward-driving element (118) and the second downward-driving element (120).
