This assembly includes a fanlet (32) and a track system (48) configured to enable axial translation of the fanlet (32) along a centerline (26) between an open position and a closed position. The track system (48) includes a first component (64), a second component (66) and a lock (68). One of the first and the second components (64, 66) is configured as or otherwise includes a slider (78). The other one of the first and the second components (64, 66) is configured as or otherwise includes a track (96). The slider (78) is mated with and configured to slide axially along the track (96). The lock (68) is configured as or otherwise includes a bolt (106) mounted with the first component (64). The lock (68) is configured to move the bolt (106) laterally into an aperture (100) in the second component (66) to prevent axial translation of the fanlet (32).
