PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a space occupied by an electric motor as much as possible.SOLUTION: A brushless DC electric motor is for an automobile wiper system including a rotor (2) with a multipolar magnet (5). The multipolar magnet (5) is mounted to be rotated and driven around a rotary shaft (L) and includes at least three multipolar axial layers. A motor (1) includes a device (8) for determining the position of the rotor including at least three position sensors (9). Each sensor (9) is associated with one of the axial layers (7). The sensors 9 are installed in a plane (P) including a direction parallel to a rotary shaft of the multipolar magnet (5) while being aligned with each other. A central sensor is mounted to be center-aligned with a central layer in an axial direction. At least one of two end position sensors is removed from a center in the axial direction with respect to a related end layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
