A brake valve has a pneumatic circuit with substantially co-planar inputs, and a connector plate with through connections having an inlet and outlet, respective plate outlets able to connect to the co-planar valve inlets, and a plurality of connector plate inputs connect to a first input on the valve. The valve can be used in a trailer electronic braking system with a braking ECU connected to a standards compliant communication bus on the trailer receiving data from trailer sensors, axle load sensing, and levelling control. The through connections can be push fit connectors connected to the plate but not directly to the valve body. The plate outlets may be connected to the co-planar inlets by means of an O-ring. The plate can be used in single or multiple axle trailers. This simplifies repair and reduces risk of damage to the valve casting.
