A separation device according to the present invention includes: an outer case (110); a pillar-shaped separation member including an engaging portion (101a); a support member (102) including a swinging portion (102b) and an engageable portion (102a), the swinging portion (102b) being swingably supported by the outer case (110), the engageable portion (102a) supporting the separation member; an inner case (103) including a fitting hole (103a) restricting swinging of the support member (102); and an operation-enabling element (111), which supports the inner case (103) and which is fusion-cut when an electric current is applied thereto. When the operation-enabling element (111) is fusion-cut, the inner case (103) is displaced, such that: the engageable portion (102a) of the support member (102) detaches from the fitting hole (103a); the swinging portion (102b) swings; and the engageable portion (102a) moves away from the engaging portion (101 ) to release the separation member.
