A method for inserting a plurality of tendons (26) into a tower (14) comprises the steps: provision of the tendons (26) in a storage area (32), picking up one of the tendons (26) by means of the pick-up device (34) of a crane (38), raising the tendon (26) to the top of the tower (14), insertion of the tendon (26) into the tower (14) from above, lowering the pick-up device (34) to the storage area (32). According to the present invention, after being raised to the top of the tower (14) and prior to the insertion of the tendon (26) into the tower, the tendons (26) are brought into unwinding engagement with an unwinding device (30), which is permanently arranged there for at least the duration of the insertion procedure, and the pick-up device (34) is already again lowered to the storage area (32) while the tendon (26) just raised to the top of the tower is inserted into the tower (14) from above by means of the unwinding device (30).
