The present invention pertains to a toothed belt driving device for a bicycle wherein, in the driving state, a pulley groove part of a driven pulley and a portion of the surface of a belt tooth part on the side in the belt travel direction make surface contact, and this portion in surface contact is within a range from a reference circumference (which is concentric with the driven pulley and the diameter of which equals a length obtained by subtracting the tooth height of the belt tooth part from the outer diameter of the driven pulley) to the tooth root section side of the belt tooth part, and this portion in surface contact has a curved shape in a cross section orthogonal to the belt width direction, and the maximum value of the shortest distance between the pulley groove part of the driven pulley and the surface of the belt tooth part on the side opposite the belt travel direction is 10-18% of the tooth pitch, and the groove depth of the pulley groove of the driven pulley is greater than the tooth height of the belt tooth part, with the difference therebetween being no less than 5% of the tooth.
