The method comprises the following steps: providing a spatially shaped sheet-metal material (210); providing a preform (220) comprising fibrous material (221); applying an adhesive (230) to the sheet-metal material (210) and/or to the preform (220) and joining the materials to form a composite, wherein the adhesive (230) forms a protruding adhesive border (231) with respect to the outer contour of the preform (220); and pressing the composite in a compression mould (100), wherein contamination of the sheet-metal material (210) with resin material in the region of the protruding adhesive border (231) is prevented.
