A rotary wing aircraft (1) comprising a fuselage (2), a cabin volume enclosed by the fuselage (2), a main rotor arranged above the fuselage (2), a tail rotor mounted on a tail (3C), the tail (3C) being attached to a rear part of the fuselage supporting said tail (3C) at its rear end, whereas the tail (3C) includes two beam boom elements (6A, 6B), one element (6A) extending at the port side and the other element (6B) extending at the starboard side of the rotary wing aircraft (1), the front root end (7A, 7B) of each element (6A, 6B) being attached to the corresponding lateral side (29) of the fuselage (2), and both elements (6A, 6B) being canted with respect to the longitudinal axis of the rotary wing aircraft (1) so as to be interconnected to each other at the rear portion of the tail (3C).
