The method involves defining a target zone in which intensity of a light beam is attenuated to inhibit dazzling when a vehicle (14) i.e. car, is detected by a camera on-board another vehicle (12). An extent of the target zone is determined so as to include a two-dimensional virtual impression (20) that partially covers the former vehicle. A dimension that is representative of a width of the former vehicle is obtained via acquired images. A depth of the images is provided as a representative of an estimated length of the former vehicle in a movement direction by a calculation unit. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for controlling a light beam emitted by a headlight of a vehicle (2) a car.
