A flywheel power storage system including a rotary body is provided. The flywheel power storage system has a simplified structure capable of reducing the inertia force caused by the rotation of the rotary body and exerted on a moving vehicle including the power storage system. The flywheel power storage system stores supplied electric power in the form of rotational kinetic energy. The flywheel power storage system includes a main shaft extending in a certain direction, a pair of rotary bodies attached to the main shaft in a counter rotatable manner about the main shaft, and a drive unit that causes the rotary bodies to counter rotate and synchronize rotation periods of the rotary bodies rotating about the main shaft with each other.
