The method involves enclosing an ejectable on-board decoy provided with a decoy charge (13) inside a streamlined cylindrical body (9) mounted ejectably on an aircraft (1). The streamlined cylindrical body containing the decoy is ejected parallel to an aerodynamic stream of the aircraft, and the decoy charge is removed from the streamlined cylindrical body. The decoy charge is maintained in a release position outside the cylindrical body and secured to the cylindrical body. The decoy charge removed from the body is operated to render the charge in active state. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a decoy device for implementing a protection method of an aircraft (2) a decoy system for protection of an aircraft.
