An abnormal torque evaluation apparatus is applied to an electrically driven vehicle 1 configured to drive left and right driving wheels 2L, 2R independently with respective electric motors 3L, 3R and also configured to independently drive the left and right driving wheels 2L, 2R by means of the electric motors 3L, 3R driven responsively to respective torque commands T L , T R . Also provided are a yaw jerk detection means 11 for detecting a yaw jerk d³ and an abnormal torque evaluator 21 for evaluating, based on the yaw jerk d³, the presence or absence of the occurrence of abnormal motor torque at the electric motors 3L, 3R.
