The invention provides a wiper system (10) for a glazed panel of a motor vehicle, which comprises a geared-down driving motor (12) and a crank (22) for a linkage (20) for turning the rotary movement of an output shaft (18) of the geared-down motor (12) into a reciprocating sweeping movement of a wiper blade, said wiper system (10) being characterized in that it comprises means for detecting the passing of the crank through predefined angular positions about the output shaft (18), which means are mounted on the geared-down motor (12) and are connected to a device for controlling at least one component of the wiper system (10).
