The method involves determining an actual speed signal, an inclination signal and a target-velocity signal. The method involves determining a differential signal from the actual speed signal and the target velocity signal and a control signal from the differential signal. The determination of the control signal from the differential signal is affected by the inclination signal. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) computer program product with program code unit for regulating an actual speed of a motor vehicle in the travel direction during descending an incline (2) device for regulating an actual speed of a motor vehicle in the travel direction during descending an incline (3) system for decelerating multiple wheels of a motor vehicle, particularly during descending an incline.
