The invention relates to a battery housing (1) for a vehicle, comprising - a box (2) that is made of an outer frame (2.1), which extends laterally around the box in particular, and a base (2.2) and has an interior (2.3), - at least one transverse support (3) and/or at least one longitudinal support (4) that is arranged in the interior (2.3) of the box (2) and divides the interior (2.3) of the box (2) into multiple modular compartments (2.4) for receiving battery modules (6), - securing elements (5) for securing the battery modules (6) within the modular compartments (2.4), and - a cover for at least covering some areas of the interior (2.3) of the box (2), wherein securing elements (5) made of a sheet material are arranged within the modular compartments (2.4).
