The invention provides an unmanned aerial vehicle sliding runway sidelight collision load relieving device and method, and belongs to the technical field of unmanned aerial vehicle sliding safety. The device comprises a preload applying component, one end of the preload applying component is provided with a connecting component, and the connecting component is used for being connected with a runway sidelight; the other end of the preload applying component is used for being connected with the fixing component, the preload applying component applies preload to the runway sidelight, and the preload can reduce the breaking bending moment of the runway sidelight. When the unmanned aerial vehicle collides with the runway sidelight, the runway sidelight is easier to break, and structural damage of the unmanned aerial vehicle caused by overlarge collision load is avoided. The device is suitable for sliding safety protection of large-wingspan unmanned aerial vehicles of various sizes, adapts to various runway side lamps, and is low in cost, easy to install, convenient to operate and capable of being repeatedly used.
