The invention relates to the technical field of vehicle range extending control, and discloses a control method of a vehicle range extender, electronic equipment and a storage medium, and the control method comprises the following steps: obtaining the current residual electric quantity of a vehicle, and determining a corresponding current power generation grade according to the current residual electric quantity; according to the electric quantity relation between the current remaining electric quantity and the target remaining electric quantity, power generation levels corresponding to a preset congested road section and a preset non-congested road section of the remaining driving road sections of the vehicle are determined; wherein when the current residual electric quantity is higher than or equal to the target residual electric quantity, the power generation level of the preset congested road section is lower than or equal to the power generation level of the preset non-congested road section; and a range extender of the vehicle is controlled to generate power at the corresponding power generation levels on the preset congested road section and the preset non-congested road section. Therefore, the power generation level of the congested road section can be reduced as much as possible, the NVH performance of the vehicle on the congested road section is improved, and the driving experience of a user is improved.
