The invention relates to a control device comprising a mechanical seal (24) that guides the rotation of a control rod (22) relative to a frame (20) about two pivot connections having orthogonal axes. The mechanical seal (24) comprises, for at least one of the pivot connections, return means (54) for returning the movable part (52) to a neutral position relative to the fixed part (50), the return means (54) comprising at least one resilient member (70) comprising two branches (72, 76), the two branches (72, 76) being arranged in the fixed part (50). Each branch extends from a finger (60) integral with one of the movable part (52) and the fixed part (50) in a manner orthogonal to the axis (X) of the pivot connection up to each free end (74, 78). The or each elastic member (70) is capable of preventing the free ends (74, 78) from moving towards each other. The elastic member (70) is inserted between a fixed pin (62, 64) integral with the fixed part (50) and a movable pin (66, 68) integral with the movable part (52) in a transverse direction (T) orthogonal to a bisector (B) of an angle between the branches (72, 76).
