The invention discloses an underground parking lot vehicle positioning system and method, and the system combines a VLC positioning technology with a Bayesian probability model, and achieves the precise positioning of a vehicle in a complex underground parking lot environment. By introducing an empty parking space identification module and a display unit, a vehicle is guided to quickly and accurately find an empty parking space in an underground parking lot and park the empty parking space; parking space number information and license plate number information recognized by a parking space number recognition device and a front-end vehicle recognition device are combined, the matched parking space number information and license plate number information are checked through a mobile phone, and a driver is assisted to quickly find a vehicle parked on an empty parking space. The system realizes accurate vehicle positioning and auxiliary vehicle searching functions of the underground parking lot, is simple in design and relatively low in cost, and has the characteristics of high precision, good real-time performance and reliability and the like.
