The method comprises the steps that in the steering process of an own vehicle, a target dangerous position is determined based on the current driving track of the own vehicle and the current driving track of a threatening vehicle, and the threatening vehicle is a vehicle which exists in a view blind area of the own vehicle in part of time in the steering process of the own vehicle and possibly collides with the own vehicle; the target dangerous position is a starting position where the own vehicle may collide with the threatening vehicle; under the condition that it is determined that the target dangerous position is located on the target road section, the needed adjusting angle of the rearview mirror is determined based on the target dangerous position; and controlling and adjusting the angle of the rearview mirror based on the required adjustment angle of the rearview mirror. According to the rearview mirror adjusting method, a driver can better control the relative position relation between the vehicle and the threatening vehicle, and the driving safety is improved.
