The invention provides a driving style category determination method and device, equipment and a storage medium. The method comprises the steps of obtaining vehicle driving data; and performing feature coding processing and classification processing on the vehicle driving data in sequence by using the trained variational auto-encoder-clustering model to obtain a target driving style category of the vehicle driver. The target driving style category is determined based on the posterior probability distribution of the driving style category about the hidden space representation vector, that is, the driving style category is related to the distribution of the hidden space representation vector after the vehicle driving data is coded, so that the internal relation between the driving style category and the hidden space representation vector is closer; therefore, the accuracy of driving style classification can be improved. Besides, the target driving style category is determined through the first posterior probability distribution of the driving style, so that the feature code of the vehicle driving data and the driving style classification are correlated instead of being independent of each other, and the processing efficiency of the driving style classification can be improved.
