The invention provides a helicopter ratchet system which comprises a main rotor system, a transmission system, a tail rotor system and a ratchet mechanism, the transmission system is connected with the tail rotor system, the ratchet mechanism comprises a ratchet assembly, the ratchet assembly comprises a ratchet shaft sleeve, the ratchet shaft sleeve is connected with the transmission system, and a circle of ratchet groove with a barb-shaped cross section is formed in the inner wall of the ratchet shaft sleeve; the opening of the ratchet groove faces the rotating direction of the ratchet shaft sleeve; the pawl assembly comprises a pawl, an elastic piece and a pawl shaft sleeve, the pawl shaft sleeve is connected with the main rotor system, one end of the elastic piece is connected with the pawl shaft sleeve in an embedded mode, the other end of the elastic piece is connected with the pawl in an embedded mode, the first end of the pawl abuts against the pawl shaft sleeve, and the second end of the pawl abuts against the ratchet wheel groove under the elastic force effect of the elastic piece. According to the method, the falling speed can be slowed down after the engine of the helicopter loses power due to failure, the troubleshooting time is prolonged, and the troubleshooting difficulty can be reduced after the tail rotor system rotates due to failure, so that the safety of the helicopter is improved.
