The invention relates to a device for a partially or autonomously operating motor vehicle, comprising at least the following devices: an electrically actuatable service brake device (80), which carries out at least one service brake function; an electrically actuatable parking brake device (104), which carries out at least one parking brake function and has at least one pressed state and a released state; a drive device (109), which has at least one active state for driving the motor vehicle and an inactive state in which the drive device (109) stops operating; an activation device (112), which generates an activation signal (S), which places the drive device (109) from an inactive state into an active state; and an electrical energy source (52) which supplies at least the electrically actuatable service brake device (80) and the starter device (112) with electrical energy. According to the invention, an electronic control device (116) is provided which is in signal connection (117) at least to the parking brake device (104) and to the starter device (112) and which receives an actual value (Uist) of a supply voltage for the electrical energy source (52) from a sensor device (115), the electronic control device (116) being designed such that the actual value (Uist) of the supply voltage for the electrical energy source (52) is detected by the sensor device (115). The electronic control device can determine, by means of the signal connection (117), whether the parking brake device (104) is in the pressed state and the starter device (112) has generated the activation signal (S), and if so, if the actual value (Uist) for the supply voltage does not reach or exceed a supply voltage minimum value (Umin), if the actual value (Uist) for the supply voltage does not reach or exceed the supply voltage minimum value (Umin), the activation signal (S) is generated. The electronic control device (116) holds the parking brake device (104) in the pressed state all the time. As a result, safety is provided for preventing accidental movements of the motor vehicle.
