The invention relates to an energy storage device with a position sensor for use in a bicycle. An energy storage device for a bicycle comprises: a housing movable between at least a first position and a second position; the at least one battery unit is arranged in the shell; the at least one battery unit is arranged in the shell; and a heat sink coupled to the housing. When the shell is located at the first position, the radiator is located at the radiating position, and when the shell is located at the second position, the radiator is located at the non-radiating position. The energy storage device includes a position sensor coupled to the housing and configured to sense when the housing is in the second position. In various embodiments, the position sensor may be configured as an orientation sensor or a proximity sensor. The bicycle communication system may include a WiFi-enabled energy storage system.
