This ship handling system is provided with: a plurality of propulsion devices, including a propulsion machine and a mooring machine, mounted on a ship body; a range finder that detects a shore-approaching distance, which is a distance from the hull to a quay wall that is going to reach the shore; a manipulation device that outputs a propulsion command to the propulsion device; and a control device that obtains the docking distance and the propulsion command, obtains a propulsion command limit value corresponding to the docking distance on the basis of a given relationship in which the propulsion command limit value decreases as the docking distance decreases, and controls the propulsion device when the propulsion command output from the steering device is equal to or greater than the propulsion command limit value. The propulsion command is set as a propulsion command limit value, thrust corresponding to the limited propulsion command is distributed to the plurality of propulsion devices, and the plurality of propulsion devices are controlled so that the distributed thrust is output from each of the plurality of propulsion devices.
