The invention relates to the technical field of unmanned aerial vehicles, and discloses an unmanned aerial vehicle height calculation method and an unmanned aerial vehicle suspension method, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining an image of a target object shot by a first camera; the target object comprises a computer recognizable code; calculating the number of pixels of the computer identifiable code in the image; acquiring the actual size of the computer identifiable code; and calculating the height from the unmanned aerial vehicle to the target object based on the camera parameters of the first camera, the actual size of the computer identifiable code and the number of pixels. According to the method, the computer-recognizable code is extracted from the image of the target object, the number of pixels is calculated, the size of the computer-recognizable code in the image is accurately quantified, the actual size of the computer-recognizable code is obtained, and the height from the unmanned aerial vehicle to the target object is calculated in combination with the camera parameters, so that the accuracy and precision of height calculation are ensured; compared with other height measurement methods, the unmanned aerial vehicle height measurement method has the advantages that modification or additional equipment is not needed, and the cost is saved.
