The method includes positioning a ground lock at the charging slot, the ground lock being controllable by the station command unit. The method includes generating, by a remote advisory unit, an identification number and transmitting the identification number to a controller and a station command unit. The identification number is generated randomly. When the estimated time of arrival of the vehicle is less than a first threshold, the ground lock moves to the blocked position. The method includes broadcasting, via the controller, a message having an identification number to the station command unit when the estimated time of arrival is less than a second threshold. When the authentication process is completed, the parking lock moves to a non-blocking position.
