The present disclosure provides "traction battery charging". In response to a request to DC fast charge a traction battery at a charging station providing a plurality of DC fast charge rates, a controller generates, for only each of the rates corresponding to an aging parameter of the traction battery that is less than a threshold, an output indicative of a cost of charging the traction battery at the rate, each of the plurality of DC fast charge rates has a cost per unit time that increases as the rate increases.
