The invention provides a battery pack and a power supply system. A battery pack (10) having a substantially hermetic structure is provided with a plurality of unit cells (11-16), each of which is provided with a release unit for discharging internal gas when the internal pressure has increased. Non-reset type pressure switch units (30, 31) are connected to a controller (50) via a signal line, and change irreversibly from an active state to an inactive state when the pressure in the battery pack (10) exceeds a predetermined pressure threshold value.
