The invention relates to the field of monitoring and alarming, and particularly discloses an automatic monitoring and alarming system and method for a traffic accident, and the method comprises the steps: firstly obtaining highway real-time video stream data collected by a front-facing camera, a vehicle obstacle distance echo signal collected by an ultrasonic sensor, and a wireless signal of a nearby vehicle collected by a vehicle-mounted probe; and then feature extraction and correlation analysis are carried out on the three by using a deep learning technology, and finally a classification result is obtained through a classifier to judge whether a traffic accident alarm is sent out, so that traffic accidents such as rear-end collision and collision are reduced through timely early warning, and the overall road traffic safety is improved.
