According to the scheme, sensors and monitoring equipment are arranged along a highway and used for collecting traffic flow and vehicle speed in real time; cleaning and preprocessing the collected data, and removing abnormal values and noise; obtaining a road design standard and historical communication data, and calculating an optimal speed limit value; a speed limit value is calculated and published to a driver through a variable speed limit sign and an electronic display screen; the change of traffic flow and the reduction of the accident rate are continuously monitored, and traffic feedback control parameters are given according to feedback conditions; and according to the traffic feedback control parameters, online real-time control is carried out, and the optimal speed limit value is updated. According to the scheme, through continuous online optimization of the optimal speed limit prompt, highway variable speed limit management of real-time traffic flow is realized.
