The invention discloses a parking lot congestion level analysis method and device, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining a target entry and exit record corresponding to a current time period of a parking lot, and the historical entry and exit records of all historical time periods which are the same as the current time period; based on the target entry and exit record, whether the parking lot is in a vacant parking space tension state in the current time period is determined, and the vacant parking space tension state refers to the state that the number of the vacant parking spaces in the current time period is smaller than a preset parking space number threshold value or the state that the proportion between the number of the vacant parking spaces in the current time period and the total number of the effective parking spaces in the parking lot is smaller than a preset proportion threshold value; based on the historical entry and exit records of the historical time periods, the number of times that the parking lot is in a vacant position tension state in the historical time periods is determined; and determining the congestion level of the parking lot based on the number of times and the judgment result of the vacant space tension state in the current time period. According to the invention, deep analysis is carried out by combining the real-time target entry and exit record of the current time period and the historical entry and exit record of the historical time period, so that the accuracy of parking lot congestion judgment is improved.
