Provided are: a modifier for a polymer, which has a high reaction rate with a polymer and is capable of controlling the amount of cationic groups in the polymer; a modified polymer into which the modifier for a polymer is introduced; and a rubber composition and a tire using the modified polymer. The present invention relates to a modifier for a polymer having an oxidized nitrile group and a cationic group.
