The range-extended power assembly comprises a generator and a motor controller, in the rotor rotation process of the generator, the motor controller is used for receiving a rotor position signal from a rotary transformer sensor, and the rotor position signal is used for indicating the rotor position angle of the generator. In the shutdown process of the engine, the motor controller is used for controlling a rotor of the generator to stop rotating at a preset rotor position according to a rotor position angle of the generator indicated by the rotor position signal after the engine flames out, and the shutdown process of the engine refers to the process that a piston of the engine is switched from a reciprocating motion state to a motion stopping state. According to the scheme, the problem of starting jitter or starting failure during starting of the engine can be effectively solved, engine side sensor data is not needed, control signal delay is low, reliability is high, and applicability is high.
